A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a car bomb attack on Moira police station in 1998.

The suspect was detained in the Moy area of Co Tyrone on Thursday morning.

He has been taken to Antrim police station for questioning.

A car packed with more than 200kg of explosives was involved in the attack on 20 February 1998 in the Co Down village.

The blast injured 11 people and caused extensive damage to the unmanned station and surrounding properties.
