Man released in murder investigation

A man who was arrested by police investigating the fatal stabbing of Basil McAfee has been released unconditionally.

The body of 50-year-old Pascal McAfee, known as Basil, was found at his house on Henderson Avenue, in the north of the city on 20 December.

It was his mother, believed to be aged in her 70s, who made the discovery.

A 54-year-old man was arrested in the east Belfast area on Monday by officers from the PSNI Serious Crime Branch. He was unconditionally released later in the day.
