The men entered the premises in the South Circular Road area at about 9.50pm on Sunday night and made off with a sum of cash.

None of the staff were injured during the robbery.

Police stopped a vehicle in the Lisnabreen area shortly before 10.10pm and a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery.

He is due to appear before Newtownards Magistrates Court on 16 January on a charge of armed robbery. A second man made off from the vehicle towards the Bloomfield Road.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them, either directly or anonymously via Crimestoppers.

That man with the golf club must have been the 'driver' but you 'woood'en know unless you were 'putt' in the situation. The police should 'club' together to 'bag' these criminals.
