Man, 83, killed in Co Londonderry crash

A man has died following a two-vehicle crash on the Glenshane Road, in Co Londonderry.

Police have named the man as 83-year-old William Stinson from the Foyle area.

The accident happened at around 11.15am on Saturday and involved a BMW X1 and Chevrolet car.

A woman was also involved in the incident and taken to hospital for treatment for her injuries which were described as not life-threatening.

The Glenshane Road was closed for a period to allow police to carry out their investigations.

It has since been reopened to traffic.

They have also appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact investigators at Strand Road police station.
