Sinn Fein will not attend a meeting to resolve the 11 plus transfer crisis.

The last test was held in November 2008.

The Education Minister Catriona Ruane has said there is no justification in forcing 10 and 11-year-olds to sit the test.

MLAs have not yet agreed on a replacement.

The Alliance Party leader David Ford wrote to the four main parties two weeks ago calling for talks in order to achieve consensus on the issue.

The party's spokesperson Trevor Lunn MLA said parties should come with a "constructive attitude because it could take quite a while to build consensus but only minutes to wreck the progress."

She has destroyed the education of the children of Maghera high school, forcing them to study in portacabins in Magherafelt while the new school is being built and ready for 2010, come to think of it the building hasnt even started yet, well done sinn fein/ira, wont talk about transfer tests but quick to draw expenses for other talks, equality in education is it

Catriona Ruane has not got a clue. No one is forcing any child to sit a test but with her messing up the education of our children they have to sit at least three in this area.

This whole issue of transfer tests is a total disgrace, Catriona Ruane has no business interferring with our educational systems, it has worked well for years without problems. Children from mainland UK that relocate over to Northern Ireland are miles behind the local Children in their work. If it's not broken why try to fix it? Catriona Ruane or any other MLA whether they be Nationalist or Unionist have'nt got the expertise or knowledge to lead in such matter's, it's an absolute joke. They are just trying to keep themselves in jobs regardless of the possible consequences to our children.

Thanks to Sinn Fein, they make the mess, and it's up to the rest of the assembly & the parents to clean it up, while they bury their heads in the sand.
