A member of the public reported that the vessel, which had six people onboard, had overturned close to Portora Boat Club at 6.15pm on Friday.

Five people were recovered from the water by nearby hire boats and were treated by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

Crews had been searching the area for one man who is unaccounted for and is not believed to have been wearing a life-jacket.

During the evening, Enniskillen Coastguard Team searched the shoreline and RNLI lifeboats based in Enniskillen and Carrybridge searched the water.

The Irish Coast Guard helicopter based at Sligo also joined the search along with a PSNI boat.

Coastguard Watch Manager Gary Young said an extensive search was carried out in favourable weather conditions.

A RNLI spokesperson said the search would resume on Saturday morning after it was wound down for the night.
