A man armed with a knife has robbed a petrol station in Magherafelt, Co Londonderry.

The incident happened on Tuesday just before 8pm, when the armed robber entered the premises in the Church Street area and demanded money.

He made off with a sum of cash and is believed to have headed in the direction of the town centre.

The male is described as being approximately 5'10" tall and of slim build. He was wearing a grey-hooded top, black trousers, black gloves and black footwear.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact CID in Magherafelt Police Station.
