The children of the Northern Ireland aid worker involved in a bus crash in Kenya Tuesday morning were robbed in her Kenyan hospital on Wednesday.
The three of them had flown to Kenya after the incident and had been giving blood in a bid to help their mother when the robbery happened.
Mary Morgan, 61, of Rostrevor, underwent emergency surgery on Tuesday night and remains in serious but stable condition.
Niamh, Ronan, and Aislinn, all in their late 20s and early 30s, were left with little more than what they were wearing after the thieves entered Nairobi Hospital and stole their money, credit cards, and mobile phones.
A spokeswoman from Habitat for Humanity said the organisation is giving the family as much practical support as possible, providing mobile phones and emergency cash, and coordinating with Kenyan authorities.
The police there have started a criminal investigation, she said.
"Our thoughts are very much with them. It hardly seems possible that on top of everything else that they've had to cope with today, that this has also happened," she added.
