Other roads in Down affected by black ice include the Armagh Road, Newry and Glascar Road, Banbridge.

While in Co Armagh, motorists are being urged to drive with due caution on Newry Road, Crossmaglen and Moy Road, Portadown.

Meanwhile, the Roads Service said that there is a risk of icy conditions on some roads in the west of the region.

Early morning salting was carried out on the main routes most likely to be affected.
