Lorcan Halton, from the Saracen area of Glasgow, was detained in Cavan town on Wednesday.

The 45-year-old had failed to appear in court on 15 January.

Police in Scotland appealed for the public's help in the search for the man after extensive enquiries revealed he was last seen in the Cairnryan area where it is believe he boarded a ferry bound for Belfast.

The public had been warned not to approach him.

In the early hours of Wednesday he was identified and arrested in Cavan on a public order offence.

He later appeared in court and has been remanded in custody to appear again at a later date.
