The Belfast Trust said it has asked the urology patients to come back as a precautionary measure following "a review of number of patient notes".
A total of 1,113 people, all of whom received a bladder camera test or a cystoscopy during 2012 and 2013, are affected by the recall.
They will be contacted by the Trust and asked to phone a dedicated advice line on (028) 9063 0500 to arrange an appointment. The lines will be open from noon on Tuesday.
Trust Medical Director Tony Stevens said: "We have identified a small number of cases where the standard of care was not what we would have expected and therefore we are offering these patients an appointment with a consultant to have the procedure repeated.
"I must stress, this is precautionary.
"I fully accept this may cause patients worry and concern and for that I am very sorry, but my priority is to ensure that we have given our patients the best possible care."
Fearghal McKinney MLA described the recall as "concerning."
The SDLP man added: "Obviously for anyone contacted it is a worry, but the Trust has been very clear this is just a precaution and we hope that is all it amounts to.
"In the meantime, I would urge everyone who is contacted by the Trust to follow the instructions they are given so the matter can be resolved quickly."
