A security alert in east Belfast has been declared a hoax.

Army bomb squad officers were called to Glenallen Street on Friday afternoon after a suspicious device was found.

Residents were evacuated from their homes while the device was examined - however it turned out to be a hoax.

Police said the security alert has now ended and all roads have been reopened.
