'Hoax' causes Downpatrick alert

A controlled explosion has been carried out at the scene of a security alert in Downpatrick, Co Down.

Army bomb experts were sent to the English Street area on Friday afternoon, following reports of a suspicious object in the area.
But according to police, the object has been found to be a hoax and the alert has now ended.
