Families discovered the damage to their loves ones' resting places over the weekend.
Police said around 25 wooden crosses had been pulled out of the ground at the cemetery in the Chapel Street area.
They have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
A spokesperson added: "We can confirm we are investigating several incidents of criminal damage to property and graves in the cemetery over the past few days.
"These are despicable acts of vandalism by individuals who have no respect or thought for their community or society in general.
"We need the community to assist us to identify those responsible. Anyone with any information please contact us in Ardmore on 0845 600 8000."
