Friday marked the last day of the Michaela Foundation Girls Summer Camp, which saw 70 young girls come together in Ballygawley, Co Tyrone.
They learnt about building self-confidence, Irish singing, and understanding the rosary, as well as cupcake design and flower arranging.
The week-long camp was dreamt up last year and Anne McAreavey, Michaela's sister-in-law, said a lot of planning had gone into the event.
"What we really wanted to get out of it was to teach young girls that they can live life without limits and Michaela taught us how to do that, so we wanted to inspire all of those values that Michaela held so true to her heart into these young girls," she explained.
Good will always win out and we have been getting those good vibes from many people throughout this country and further afield.
Mickey Harte
Michaela's father, Tyrone GAA boss Mickey Harte, visited the camp with his son-in-law, John McAreavey, who found his wife's body in their hotel room in January last year.
Mr Harte said of the camp: "I think Michaela would just love it.
"Sometimes it takes a battle and that battle can only be won through prayer, and we have loads of prayers coming our way, and I thank God for that," he told UTV.
John McAreavey and the Harte family wanted to commemorate and celebrate Michaela's life and also to continue the good work she had achieved and it is hoped the camp will become an annual event held in counties across Ireland.
Hotel workers Sandip Moneea and Avinash Treebhoowoon were cleared of her murder by a jury at the Supreme Court in Mauritius last week.
