Gardaí search for missing Dublin pair

Gardaí are carrying out a major search operation in Co Cavan for two young men from north Dublin after they were reported missing by their families.

The pair disappeared after going to see a number of people in Ballyjamesduff in Co Cavan on Tuesday.

Both men are believed to have travelled together to the Cavan area in a silver Ford Focus car registration 04 D 4638.

They have been named by police as Eoin O' Connor, 32, and Anthony Keegan, 33.

Mr O'Connor was last seen at Kilbarron Avenue, Coolock. He is described as being 6ft tall, stocky build with short brown hair and blue eyes. When last seen he was wearing a grey track suit bottoms and a blue windbreaker type jacket with a hood.

Mr Keegan is described as being 5ft 10in tall, medium build with short brown hair and brown eyes.

An Garda Síochána launched an operation on Thursday after they were reported missing on Wednesday night.

They are currently concentrating their searches in the Virginia and Ballyjamesduff areas.

Gardaí said that they are seriously concerned for the safety of the two and have appealed to the public for any information that may help their investigation.
