The assault took place in the Silverstream Road area sometime between 11pm and 11.30pm on Wednesday 26 December, but has just been reported.

Up to five people - one with a suspected gun - are said to have got out of an old-type Mitsubishi 4x4 before targeting the victim.

The man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact the PSNI.
