A car window was smashed by a stone in the Protestant estate on Monday evening.

Police attended the scene to look for the culprit, who was described as wearing a red top.

They did not find anyone in the area at the time.

The incident is being treated by police as a hate crime and police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

It comes after community talks were held with PSNI on Monday after a group of up to 100 nationalist youths went on the rampage, damaging four cars and smashing a window of a home in the area.

The DUP said stones were thrown from the Stewartstown Road into Carnanmore Park shortly before 7pm.

"It's very disappointing that there has been a further attack," local DUP councillor Brian Kingston told UTV.

"So soon after that meeting, which went very well, more innocent residents have been attacked and I understand the police have been out."

Humanist: We have several Polish neighbours. No one here is rude enough too ask their religion - nor do we care. We are not bigots. They are not Republicans, they aren't involved in violence. For the most part they are very hard working decent people. The car was targeted because some half-wits feel that any vehicle in a Protestant estate belongs to Protestants.

Jesus wept.......(sigh)@ Peter in Armagh, because the area is 'festooned' with red ,white and blue that makes the attacks ok then? @ Peter in Belfast, it's all the fault of the Orange Order, 'cos they forced them poor kaffolik youths to attack this small protestant area so they did'.....tube. @Derry....ahhh bejesus.....sure there's not a single murial or tricolour or nuttin on that luvverly Falls Road in West Belfast where you claim to be, to be sure and all and all and dat....idiot.

Brendan, it would be interesting to know the breakdown of how many of these attackers know both parents. Family unit breakdown, unstable home life, multi-generational unemployment, lack of education/qualifications, alcohol and drug abuse are all mitigating factors to why our country is the way it is.
