Further attack in Protestant estate

Police are appealing for information after a further sectarian attack in the Suffolk area of west Belfast.

A car window was smashed by a stone in the Protestant estate on Monday evening.

Police attended the scene to look for the culprit, who was described as wearing a red top.

They did not find anyone in the area at the time.

The incident is being treated by police as a hate crime and police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

It comes after community talks were held with PSNI on Monday after a group of up to 100 nationalist youths went on the rampage, damaging four cars and smashing a window of a home in the area.

The DUP said stones were thrown from the Stewartstown Road into Carnanmore Park shortly before 7pm.

"It's very disappointing that there has been a further attack," local DUP councillor Brian Kingston told UTV.

"So soon after that meeting, which went very well, more innocent residents have been attacked and I understand the police have been out."
