Jackie McCooey died on Saturday after an accident involving cattle feeding equipment at the family farm on Killybracken Road.
His funeral took place at St Patrick's Church, Eglish at 11am.
Mr McCooey had seven children and had farmed for most of his life.
His death is the 24th farming fatality in just over 20 months.
Maurice Morrow, DUP MLA for Fermanagh & South Tyrone, said the whole community had been left devastated.
He said local people were "all saddened by this awful tragedy."
Declan Mc Aleer, Sinn Féin West Tyrone MLA, said."This is a terrible tragedy for the farming community and another stark reminder of the dangers associated with the industry.
"We hear all too often in the news about the latest farming death, but behind every news report is a human story of a lost loved one and a grieving family.
"Mr Mc Cooey and his family are well known in farming circles throughout county Tyrone and my sympathies go out to his family at this difficult time."
