Paul McGuigan, 32, was struck by a black Range Rover while walking in the Williams Street area, shortly after 10am on the morning in question.

The father-of-one will be buried following funeral mass at St Patrick's Chapel, Crebilly.

Police are advising motorists that delays are expected in the Crebilly Road area for about two hours on Thursday. The service will be held at 11am.

SDLP councillor Declan O'Loan, who knows the McGuigan family well, has expressed his sympathy.

"The entire community was very shocked to hear the news of this tragic accident as they gathered at church at midday on Sunday," he said.

"It's a terrible thing that a young man should lose his life in this way."

Police are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about the crash to come forward.
