Mr McKay, 36, was shot several times by at least two armed men as he sat in his home on Longlands Road last month.
The latest arrests were made just hours after the murder victim's funeral in north Belfast on Friday.
The pair have been taken to Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man arrested in relation to the fatal shooting has been released unconditionally.
He was detained on Thursday, one week on from the murder.
Later that evening, police re-visited three scenes linked to the shooting speaking to locals and passers-by in a bid to gain more information on the gun attack.
