Police have charged four people after raids on seven suspected brothels in Belfast.

A 21-year-old woman and two men, aged 33 and 46, have been charged with human trafficking within the UK for sexual exploitation, controlling prostitution for gain, brothel keeping and money laundering.

Another woman, 22, is accused of controlling prostitution for gain.

They are due to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday.

Police raided 16 properties across the UK on Friday as part of Operation Apsis, a massive police operation to crack down on human trafficking.

Fifteen victims, including three men, were rescued.
