'Tis the season to be flying, with thousands of people winging their way home to Northern Ireland for emotional reunions just in time for Christmas - and one visitor getting a very special welcome.

The Monroe family travelled to Belfast all the way from the US state of Ohio, for their first family get-together in years.

But as Roisin, Brandon and Kaeli-Anne walked through arrivals at George Best Belfast City Airport, what seemed like ordinary bystanders, fellow travellers and even flight crews burst into song.

Thanks to the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, the in disguise Belfast Community Gospel Choir treated the family to a rendition of Joy To The World to get their Christmas off to a very festive start.

Belfast City Airport is expecting around 9,000 passengers through its doors on Friday alone, while Belfast International is braced for a whopping 50,000 people travelling throughout the weekend.

Christmas choirs are also in arrivals at the International to welcome passengers home and give a festive feeling to the airport.

And about 620,000 passengers are expected to travel through Dublin Airport over the course of the Christmas season - from Thursday just past to Wednesday 2 January.

Issac Watts would have been very proud to see his hymn presented in this way. Brilliant video and one of my favourite hymns.
