The fire, which was reported shortly before 8.30pm on Tuesday, broke out on the sixth floor of Enterprise House on Adelaide Street.

When crews arrived at the office block they were confronted with the fire in a stairwell and immediately called for assistance from across Belfast and Lisburn.

A specialist high reach appliance was used to help extinguish the blaze.

A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Service said: "The source of the fire has been identified and extinguished however NIFRS resources are remaining on scene as investigations are still ongoing."
