Aa in Carrickfergus you sound like a TV character. A local site for local people. Now if you can recognize that pastiche of a quote perhaps you'll see you're being small minded and insular.

I remember as a child going to a state primary school in the late 50s seeing detailed maps of Northern Ireland with the rest of Ireland blanked out. We also learned about English history and geography whilst the history of the rest of this island was hardly mentioned. To me Drake and Raleigh were great heros so imagine my great shock as an adult to find that they were in reality genocidal criminals responsible for massacres of both Irish and Scots. Dublin may not be the capital of northern Ireland but it is the principal city on this island. An imaginary line on a map does not nullify any enviromental impact on either side of that line. We share an island so lets get together and cherish it

Does no one else have a giggle at the this report reads?... I am sorry but it must be my bad sence of humour but "Plumes of smoke and a blaze at WATERY LANE" Kinda sounds weird eh.Oh... Northern Ireland is part of the UK, The south and Republic is classed as a country of it's own... sorry just had to slip that in there.

Dublin is our Capital eastender. Belfast is the second city on this island.
