The incident happened at around 10pm in the Drumard Road area. Police said the family were indoors at the time but were not hurt.

Officers are now working to establish a motive for the attack.

They have asked anyone who saw what happened, or who was in the area on Saturday night and saw anything out of the ordinary, to get in touch.

A spokesperson added: "They are keen to hear from any Landowners in the area to rule out any legitimate shooting on their lands."

Information can be passed to the PSNI on the non-emergency number 101.
