A 76-year-old man was also in the house at the time of the attack on the property in the Rathkyle area of the town shortly after midnight on Tuesday.
The petrol bomb caused scorch damage to the back door of the property.
A brick was also thrown through a window.
Police said no one was injured in the incident, however the three adults and baby, who were in the house at the time, were left very badly shaken.
Alliance councillor Neil Kelly said: "This was a disgraceful attack on a family home and I must condemn those responsible.
"The outcome could have been much worse and we must be thankful no-one was seriously injured.
"This type of behaviour is not welcome in Antrim and I must appeal to anyone with information to contact the PSNI as soon as possible. Those responsible must be apprehended before they have the opportunity to target others."
Police have appealed for information.
