Three elderly women have been robbed by a masked gang in a house in Lisburn, Co Antrim.

The burglary took place in the Carnbane Road area on Tuesday at around 9.20pm.

Police said that the women - one in her 70s and two in her 80s - were pushed about by the burglars, but did not sustain any serious injuries.

A sum of money and some documents were taken during the robbery.

Three of the five man gang all wore caps, masks and gardening gloves and are all believed to have been aged in their 20s.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
