The attack happened in the Leathemstown Road area at around 7.30pm on Sunday.

Three men broke in through the front door and ransacked the place, however it is believed they left empty handed.

The elderly woman, who was at home at the time, was unhurt but deeply shocked.

Police said the men are believed to have spoken with Belfast accents and wore dark coloured jackets. Anyone who witnessed the incident has been asked to come forward.
