Elderly men threatened with screwdriver

Police are investigating after two men, aged in their 70s and 80s, were threatened with a screwdriver during an aggravated burglary in Co Down.

The incident happened in the village of Dollingstown at around 9.45pm on Thursday.

The men, who are related, arrived in the home to find three male intruders.

During an altercation the two men were threatened with a screwdriver.

The three intruders then made off in a black car.

One of the men was described as being around 6ft tall with a round face.

The other two were described as being smaller, slimmer and both aged in their 20s.

Police said nothing was taken in the incident and no-one was injured.

They have appealed for information.
