Police were called to an address in Wandsworth Crescent on Wednesday night following a report of anti-social behaviour at around 10pm.
Following a search, plants and growing equipment were discovered with an estimated value of £5,500.
A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a number of drugs offences and remains in police custody.
Later on Tuesday police searched an unoccupied property in the Greenville Road area and discovered cannabis plants with an estimated value of £50,000.
East Belfast area commander, Chief Inspector Darrin Jones, said: "We know drugs are an issue of concern and officers have been working closely with the community in east Belfast to tackle the issue of drug supply and distribution.
"These seizures illustrate our commitment to removing drugs from the area.
"I would appeal to anyone who has any information in relation to illegal drugs, to contact local police on the new non-emergency number 101 or, alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
