The Garda National Drugs Unit carried out a major operation in Naas, Co Kildare, on Thursday.

Two vehicles were searched and found to contain heroin and cocaine with an estimated street value of between €3.5m and €5.5m.

Two men in their 30s were arrested.

Follow up searches were then carried out in Palmerstown and Celbridge, where upwards of €1.25m worth of cocaine, cannabis herb and heroin was discovered.

Why does utv when talking about something in the south of Ireland refer to it as "The Republic of Ireland" as if it was some far away country? We're practically 1 country. Just demonstrates utv's loyalist streak!
