Police investigated the serious incident, involving a female pedestrian and a car, which happened in the east of the city shortly after 3pm on Wednesday.

The on-slip was closed to traffic for a period and caused long delays during the evening rush hour.

Police asked anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them at Strandtown PSNI Station on 0845 600 8000.
