Driver sought over foal 'hit and run'

A foal struck by a car in an unreported crash in Co Down had to be put to sleep after sustaining head injuries and a broken leg.

The collision happened on Saintfield Road about 200 yards from the Temple Crossroads at around 5am on Thursday 13 September.
The crossroads are located between Carryduff and Ballynahinch.
A police spokesperson said: "Evidence at the scene suggested the foal had been struck by a car however the driver did not remain nor report the collision."
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
