A radio DJ is to receive undisclosed damages over false newspaper allegations about his personal life.
Downtown Radio presenter Dougi Marshall sued over a Sunday World article which claimed a sports car was set on fire at his Belfast home.
An apology was also issued to the broadcaster as part of the settlement announced at the High Court.
Under the terms of the resolution a statement was read out by senior counsel for the newspaper's publishers.
It said: "On 20th July, 2008 the defendant published an article in the Sunday World under the headline 'Dirty Dougi's Fire Starter' which may have wrongly implied that the plaintiff had been unfaithful, deceitful and/or dishonest.
"The defendant unreservedly withdraws any such allegations which may have been made and apologises to the plaintiff for any distress and embarrassment caused to him as a result of this publication.
"The defendant has also agreed to pay the plaintiff an undisclosed sum in damages and his reasonable legal costs."
