Cyclist in serious condition after crash

Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash in Dunmurry that has left a cyclist in serious condition.

The 33-year-old man was hit by a silver Vauxhall Corsa car close to the junction of the Cutts and Milltown Road at around 6.30am on Tuesday.

He was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment.

The PSNI has called for anyone who saw the collision to contact them.

My sympathies to this cyclist and his family. We have designated lanes in the rush hour for buses and cyclists, yet CARS are widely abusing this. I notified the local PSNI station last week and I have yet to see a Police patrol on this particular road. If someone dies will the car driver be jailed and the Ombudsman contacted for failure by the PSNI to POLICE the roads ? I wonder......
