David McNulty, who was from the Belcoo area, died following the one-vehicle incident at the Lattone Road between the villages of Garrison and Belcoo.

Sean Burns, from Belcoo Gaelic Football Club, said Mr McNulty was a highly respected young man who was a keen football player and was training to be an electrician.

"He was a salt of the earth young fella, he just won an award for being apprentice of the year in the local college. He was a very quiet, unassuming young man," he said.

"I coached him at under 14 and 16 - he was very enthusiastic and highly mannered young man, very committed to his football. He was very popular among his classmates."

A PSNI spokesman said it was reported that a blue Seat Toledo was located off the road in the area shortly before 3am.

The Lattone Road between Garrison and Belcoo has since reopened.

Officers investigating the incident have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

They can be contacted at the Collision Investigation Unit by calling the non-emergency number 101.
