Neil Cunningham pleaded guilty to a total of 35 offences committed on dates between 1 January 2011 and 18 May 2013 including 25 counts of making indecent photographs of children, eight of distributing or showing indecent images of children and two further charges of possessing extreme pornography.
The 25-year-old's defence QC said Cunningham understood what he had pleaded guilty to and asked that sentencing be adjourned for probation reports and a psychiatric evaluation.
Judge Patrick Lynch QC agreed to the reports and released Cunningham on bail until sentencing on 11 September.
The judge warned that his release was no indication as to "the ultimate outcome" of the case.
Cunningham, of Glebe Manor in Hillsborough, was also ordered to sign the police sex offender register.
