Four headstones were damaged in the attack at Carnmoney Cemetery in Newtownabbey.
One headstone had paint thrown over it, while another two were pushed over, one of which damaged another memorial.
Mr Dodds said: "It is disgraceful that anyone should violate the peace and sanctity of a cemetery - it's sickening.
"Such desecration is not wanted in Newtownabbey or anywhere else.
"Our thoughts are very much with the families affected by this vandalism who will be deeply hurt and upset."
The DUP man added: "I welcome that Newtownabbey Borough Council parks staff are on site to assist as far as they can to repair the damage.
"I appeal for calm and for no further incidents.
"I urge anyone who knows who was responsible for this shameful vandalism to bring that information forward to the PSNI."
The police have appealed for information.
