Police said the group gathered at around 12.45pm and dispersed at around 2pm.

There were no reports of any disturbances.

Loyalists have staged protests across Northern Ireland since last December when the policy of flying the Union flag at City Hall was changed to designated days.

I really don't understand their problem. The flag flies on the same days of the year that it flies in the rest of Britain. What in the name of god is their problem with being treated the same as the rest of Britain??????????

How can UTV let these bigoted republican fools post their hypocritical nonsense on here. Talking about illegal protests and to go and get a job (Pot kettle) let's see how they get on when marching season starts. So there will be no protesters bused in from all over the place to get offended. We shall see ???

@Obi Wan in UK wrote (12 hours ago):" Ultimately the politicians are to blame, this is clearly a sensitive issue which they have mishandled" yes, the DUP and the UUP made a horlicks of it Obi with their leaflets, agree 100% ........."you can't blame the people on the streets." I think the people on the streets rioting are to blame as well now Obi, lets be realistic :)

There is nothing wrong with peaceful protests, we are in a democracy after all, what gets me is that all these protests seem to be against democracy, its give us back our bigoted, sectarian, WASP rights, let us go back to 'abusing' catholics, and then we will stop protesting. Time for the PUL community to realise this country will never go back to the so called 'Good old days' that they yearn for.

@obi wan. Yes i can and i will. Most of the protests are illegal protests and as for the rioting. I blame those people. A tiny amout of people but they are to blame. The politicians made a democratic vote.
