The claims were made against staff at Ralphs Close, a residential home for adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour at Gransha in the city.
In a statement the Western Health Trust said: "A number of staff have been suspended as a precautionary measure in line with Adult Safeguarding Policy."
A Trust spokesperson added that families have been informed and have declined to comment further because of the active investigation.
Police have confirmed they are looking into the allegations and appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
