The defendant, Jonathan McCosker from Sheriff's Road in the city, is alleged to have committed the offences on 5 May.
A police officer told a special sitting of the city Magistrate's Court on Monday that the defendant allegedly committed nine road traffic offences on that day, which was the date his prison licence conditions expired following his jail release on 5 February.
The officer told District Judge Barney McElholm that the ramming of the police landrover took place when a car, allegedly driven by the defendant, was being pursued by the police in the Ferndale area of the city after the car had been driven off at speed.
The defendant was released on his own bail of £500 with a cash surety also of £500 to appear in court again on 12 June.
As part of his bail conditions he is to be electronically tagged, must report to the police three times per week and must not travel either as a passenger or as a driver in any private vehicle.
