Drugs with a street value of over £500,000 were seized when police raided a cannabis factory in east Belfast on Tuesday.

The cannabis plants were found at a property in Roddens Park off the Knock Road.

The haul, described by police as "substantial", was unearthed by members of the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch.

One woman was arrested and inquiries are continuing, said a police spokeswoman.

The find follows the seizure of cannabis plants worth another £500,000 last month in Co Down at Comber and Downpatrick, and another substantial seizure of plants at a house on the Upper Newtownards Road a couple of days before.

Detectives were attempting to discover if the latest find was linked to the gang responsible for the the previous finds.
