Cannabis factory found in Newtownabbey

A cannabis factory has been uncovered during police searches in Newtownabbey on Friday morning.

Officers made the discovery during a search of a house at Merville Garden Village.

According to the PSNI, plants with an estimated street value of around £10,000 have been seized.

The search was carried out after police arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of burglary, at a shopping centre on Longwood Road.

He remains in custody on suspicion of both burglary and drugs offences.
