The double-decker bus caught fire in the York Street area of the city at around 7pm on Tuesday.

The blaze began in the rear of the vehicle. It is believed a technical problem may have started the fire.

No one was injured in the incident, and passengers were all led away to safety.

The fire was brought under control by the Fire and Rescue Service.

I do wish local news shows would do some follow up on accidents involving Translink. If this is like the double deck bus that overturned in front of Belfast Central station last year, we'll never hear about this again. I don't recall the Newry bus that crashed into the wall of the Great Victoria Railway station ever making the news either.
