Burglar alarm installer charged with theft

A burglar alarm installer has pleaded guilty at the Magistrate's Court in Derry to stealing thousands of pounds worth of electrical equipment from his now former employer.

CHAR(13) + CHAR(10)John Paul O'Connor, 35, from Brockagh Road in Eglinton, admitted a charge of theft by an employee by stealing electrical and photographic equipment belonging to the security company Building Protection Systems. He stole the items between 27 March and 10 April.CHAR(13) + CHAR(10) CHAR(13) + CHAR(10)A defence solicitor told District Judge Barney McElholm that £6,600 of restitution had been paid by O'Connor to his former employer leaving £400 outstanding.CHAR(13) + CHAR(10) CHAR(13) + CHAR(10)The case was adjourned until Friday to enable O'Connor to pay the remaining amount.CHAR(13) + CHAR(10)
