Clarence Campbell, who was originally from the area, suffered serious injuries after being struck by a black Hyundai car on the Victoria Road.

Alliance East Antrim MLA Stewart Dickson has expressed his condolences at the teenager's death.

"I would like to extend my profound sympathies to the family of this young boy. It must be very difficult to lose such a young family member.

"I would also like to express my concern for the obvious distress that his classmates will be in following his death. I am sure that the school will ensure that they are given the support they require."

Police investigating the crash are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.

My 15 year old son David died 5 weeks ago in Donaghcloney a mile from his father's house. My thoughts and prayers are with all his family and friends at this devastating time. This wonderful poem gave us some comfort and I hope it does you too. God Bless xx Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die. =============

Please pray for Clarence and for his family... They are the kindest, sweetest, most loving family on this Earth.Just like Clarence was. I still can't believe it... He was an angel and he's just gone back to Heaven. Anyone who ever met Clarence would tell you that he had this immense purity and goodness that just radiated from him... All my love and prayers go to him and to his mum, dad, his beautiful incredible sister, and his nanny... He will never be truly gone. xxx
