Thieves also took a quantity of Asian-style jewellery when they broke into the Bleary Road property at some time between 1pm and 3pm on Tuesday.

Police said the rings, necklaces, earrings and bangles are of "great sentimental value" to the owners, whose house was ransacked during the burglary.

A silver or blue vehicle, thought to be an Audi, has been spotted in the area recently and anyone with more information has been asked to pass it on to the PSNI.
