A body of a man has been recovered following a fire at a funeral home in Ardee, Co Louth.

A man in his 30s who worked at Finlay's Funeral Services was unaccounted for after the blaze which is believed to have broke out at the workshop on the premises at around 5pm on Monday.

Six fire teams attended the scene and brought the situation under control.

Gardaí confirmed that a man's body was found by Dundalk Fire Service at around 10.20pm.

A post mortem is due to be carried out later on Tuesday.
