A man's body has been found at a beach in Co Down.

The discovery was made on Ballyholme beach early on Sunday morning.

Bangor police are attending the scene.

They said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the man's death, which is not currently being treated as suspicious.

His body was found in the water at about 7.30am.

A police spokesman said: "A post morten examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death which is not being treated as suspicious at this stage."
